(It is hard looking into the losses of 2020. It can feel like God watches only from afar. Below is an image I experienced as a psalm was read outloud. It reminds me of God’s life that is ours even in this year. My hope? You experience something more speaking to you, too...’cause God is like that.)
Worlds twirling and brimming with life
Fully pregnant with possibility and promise
Breath surrounding the stars showering life through the galaxies.
All contained flowing in and through God.
God, the one that did not break away to watch
No,
God the one that intimately made and is closely making
Things never finished, kissed with the everlasting
Always teeming with life and breath
He holds Jupiter up His sleeve and the moons in His palm
Earth spinning with breath in being made and remade
Experiencing birth again and again
I AM, not a noun but an everlasting, living filled with life
Some say, each day born closer to death
NO
Each day breathes closer into God’s unfurling life
Inhaling and exhaling, life and love spinning together
Turning, twisting with future always ahead
And past behind as a remembrance
And NOW always filled with God’s breath and life
God who does not let go, always at work
Connected, living and breathing into life
God the one who did not abandon
Continually breathing freshness in the depths
Skating surfaces with joy and care
God did not abandon but continues to hold all near.
