The Import of Connection

Connection enables us to be seen and known, not forgotten
Connection powerful and clear invigorates grace
Connection enables simple things; walks on sunshine shores
Connection chooses to reach between and gain an extra hand
For the everyday climb of life.

Connection clears the cobwebs of lost loves
It awakens heart, soul, and mind
Wake up sleeper, wake up lonely one
Like a creaking floor board that knows
the sound of frozen winter thawing
into raging rivers
Warmth grows in the connected soul.

The death rattle ends and the breath grows warm,
Generosity of shared life, humorous and full beyond measure.
Seed, sprout, tree, and fruit with child dangling,
Eating the fruit offered, connected, bent knees across a tree limb
Warm puppies with your finger tips scritching an itchy spot
Connection that creates safety and relief from dry, cracked winter
Playful purring kitties rubbing their cheeks on the lap
Content and connected, turning over will and life to connection.

Like the river, needs the shore
And the flower needs the shower
And rain boots need puddles
Connection meets needs as life meets community

“Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel, heard and valued—when they can give and receive without judgment.” Brené Brown

“Every time God forgives us, God is saying that God’s own rules do not matter as much as the relationship that God wants to create with us.” Father Richard Rohr

“Unconditional love will have the final word in reality.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
