A Spiritual Exercise
I am finding it hard to focus my thoughts to one stream. So many things have clamored for my attention. Quite honestly, these things captured my attention. Some come with trepidation and some come with gladness while others vie for my gaze and thoughts. If you have found yourself with several streams of tangled thoughts, consider silence and stillness. I want to lead you through an exercise because stillness and silence is important.
Just settle yourself. In your thoughts, see yourself taking off the coat that contains so many pockets filled with all the clamoring tangled things. Set it aside. Return to sitting in stillness of mind and body.
Notice if any thoughts are still swirling. Turn your attention to your body in space. Focus on your breathing. Breathe deeply 2 more times.
Now, imagine God is sitting across from you. They, God, the Trinity, smiles and loves you. Feel the warmth of the moment. Feel the rise and fall of your breath. Inhale the warmth.
When you are ready…
Let go by saying the following sentence: “I let go and embrace this moment as it is.”
Breathe and open your eyes as you are ready. Hopefully more grounded in stillness.
Breathing, grounded, and loved.
